Summer is a wonderful opportunity to move culture from indoors to public spaces and the fresh air. It is a time of summer cinemas, open-air theater, music festivals, and street artists. Art and culture can directly touch our everyday lives, disrupt our routines, enchant us, and give us new perspectives on the world.
That is why we’re delighted to announce the first edition of the Busking Balkans Festival – Albania 2025, May 15-19, featuring a groundbreaking lineup of international buskers curated by MaÅ‚gorzata WÄ™glarz.
Stunts, live music, theatre and circus, acrobatics, juggling, and many more acts, welcome you to Skanderbeg Square, Tirana, on May 15th, for the national premiere of the Busking Balkans – Albania 2025 edition. Designed to appeal to audiences of all ages and cultural backgrounds, Busking Balkans – Albania 2025 is an excellent opportunity to indulge in wholesome interactions, spend quality time with family and friends, meet new people, and share moments of joy and discovery.
Why no stages?
Busking thrives on direct contact with the audience. Unlike large street theatre groups, buskers do not need big infrastructure to showcase their talents. They perform close to their audience, making art inclusive and accessible to everyone, regardless of financial status or social background.
So don't be shy. If an artist invites you to perform, join in. You won't regret it!
Free Admission – Donations Welcomed!
Busking Balkans – Albania 2025 covers some of the costs required to bring international performers. However, street art thrives on interaction with the audience, and buskers receive most of their salary in the form of tips from the audience. Our performers come to Albania from various corners of the world and, if you can, please show your appreciation by making donations when artists start “passing the hat”.
To help our artists avoid carrying a heavy load of coins, we’d suggest that you – in their interest – mostly drop bills into their hats.
Opening

The opening will take place on Thursday, May15th at 5 p.m.
After a colorful parade with all of this year's artists, and after sharing some interesting information about the festival and our program, we’ll continue directly with our breathtaking shows.
Looking forward to having fun together!
